Par hasard [meeting on the asian road]

” My travels and my meetings are complementary. My trips first, my meetings then. These pictures are made simply by a people who open me their doors, their lives, their countries. It is thanks to them that I travel and thanks to trip that I meet them.

As it was usual in the nineteenth century to paint big men, big events, heroic mostly, I become attached to the ordinary men and to their events. Because though it arrives, they are those who make history. My look is that from abroad which goes to the meeting of a local identity.

Every face is equivalent to a place, to a history also. I didn’t stage their daily life, I spent one instant with them, a trip in bus of some days, one meal or two, some hours……This photographs is a real wish to share their culture such the endless passenger.”
